The words “European army” inescapably evoke images of soldiers in the same uniform, marching under the same banner. In reality, an “army” is far more than a body of soldiers. It is everything that allows the soldiers to act, namely: a commensurate budget, clear orders, effective equipment and an industrial and technological base capable of producing them. All this must be brought together at the same time if the dream of a European army is to be made flesh…
