Geopolitical challenges of Earth's system shifts

Geopolitics unfolds on a planet currently facing significant upheavals. The transgression of certain limits that threaten its habitability for human societies foreshadows the onset of shocks, crises, and disruptions within the international system. This could lead some actors, including states, to redefine their vision of the world, their strategies, and their interests.
The Climate, Environment and Security Programme focuses on these interdependencies: while it examines the consequences of political and geopolitical decisions on natural systems, it also seeks to analyse the impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss on human and international security. It explores the evolution of geopolitics in a world structured by our relationship with living systems and natural resources, paying particular attention to feedback loops and systemic risks.
