Jean de Gliniasty is a Senior Research Fellow at IRIS, specialized in Russian issues.

Jean de Gliniasty has had a long diplomatic career. He joined the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1975, where he held a number of positions, including Deputy Head of the Center for Analysis and Forecasting, Counselor at the Permanent Representation of France to the European Communities, Director of Development and Scientific, Technical and Educational Cooperation, Director of the United Nations and International Organizations, Director of Africa and the Indian Ocean.

He was Consul General of France in Jerusalem and Ambassador of France to Senegal, Brazil and Russia.
