On the eve of its 250th anniversary, the United States occupies a dominant position on the world stage. Ironically, its internal situation has not seemed this fragile since the Civil War: political factionalism, ethnic, cultural and religious separatism are on the increase. Even the Union seems threatened as the desire for autonomy by certain territories and states is considered a plausible threat.
The Political and Geostrategic Observatory of the United States, coordinated by IRIS, aims to : shed light on the 2024 presidential and legislative elections; analyse the transformations underway in the United States; examine the national political and geostrategic situation; and understand the economic, political, diplomatic and military implications for France, the European Union and on the international stage.
