The IRIS Geopolitical Observatory of the Indo-Pacific aims to establish itself as a recognised and visible platform for contributions and perspectives from various parts of the Indo-Pacific and across diverse disciplines.

Its purpose is to provide a space for producing analyses and fostering debates, as well as a thematic library to broaden perspectives, viewpoints, and methodological approaches on a region whose significance is only just beginning to be widely discussed, particularly by the region itself.

The Observatory has several key objectives: to study the multiple visions, actors, and tools shaping the Indo-Pacific concept and the challenges arising from this diversity through a multiscale and multidisciplinary lens; to disseminate the results of this research widely through events and publications; to create an interdisciplinary Euro-Indo-Pacific research network by fostering scientific collaborations and joint projects with think tanks working on Indo-Pacific-related themes; and to develop training programmes focused on the Indo-Pacific.
