Sport is a major geopolitical tool. Whether used as an instrument of influence or as a source of economic, political, or even cultural challenges, sport has become an essential component of international relations.

A pioneer in France, IRIS has been working on the geopolitics of sport for over 20 years, drawing on a global network of multidisciplinary researchers. With extensive experience at both national and international levels, the Sport and Geopolitics programme team is equipped to produce consultancy notes, studies, and research reports for public and private clients.

IRIS is a leading interlocutor at the European level on numerous cross-cutting issues related to the world of sport. The Institute leads or is a member of several international consortia within the framework of European projects. Its participation in numerous European programmes has enabled its research team to develop strong expertise on highly specific issues.
