Kassim Bouhou is an Associate Research Fellow at IRIS, specialising in issues of international cooperation. He combines academic and professional experience in France and abroad.

His research focuses on human security challenges in contexts of crises, stabilisation and post-conflict situations, on new forms of civic engagement in the global sphere, and on the role of diasporas in international cooperation.

He also teaches the concept of country risk at IRIS Sup’, the IRIS school, from the perspective of human security. Following a military career, during which he held various positions within the Ministry of the Armed Forces, notably in the Persian Gulf, he also served as a member of the Panel of Experts on Libya, tasked with reporting violations of the sanctions regime to the United Nations Security Council.

In the private sector, he has developed projects and partnerships in the fields of artificial intelligence, ecological innovation and vocational training. Holder of a PhD in International Relations from Paris Sorbonne-Nouvelle, his thesis focused on American foreign policy in North Africa after the Cold War.
