Michel Maietta is Senior Research Fellow at IRIS in the area of geopolitics, development aid and foresight.
After having led the development of a thought leadership, analysis and intelligence unit in Save the Children International and Action Against Hunger, Michel Maietta has initiated the IARAN (Interagency Regional Analysts Network) – a multi-agency hub focusing on strategic intelligence in the humanitarian sector.
Michel Maietta has considerable experience in the humanitarian and development sectors. Dottore ex Laurea in Political Science from the University of Naples « Federico II », Italy, he completed a Master of Science in Geopolitics and International Relations at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) of Toulouse, France. Michel Maietta has extensive field experience with Action Against Hunger as Country Director, with Solidarités International as Regional Director and with Sidaction where he has developed and managed a challenging capacity building program to empower HIV/AIDS grassroots organizations in sub-Saharan Africa.
A former member of the board of directors of Action Against Hunger and Uganda head of mission at Médecins du Monde, Michel Maietta was an adjunct professor at the Institut d’études politiques (IEP) d’Aix-en-Provence and he co-directed the Humanitarian Leadership Program Francophone at the Deakin University. Today, Michel is course director for the Humanitarian Manager Program at IRIS and visiting lecturer in Strategic Foresight at the University of Naples « Federico II ».
