Arnaud Dubien

Arnaud Dubien is an Associate Research Fellow at IRIS, specialised in Russia and CIS.

 

Arnaud Dubien graduated from the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales and the Institut d’études politiques de Paris. He was a Russia/CIS Research Fellow at IRIS from 1999 to 2006. He then directed several publications devoted to the post-Soviet space, among which the Russian edition of Foreign Policy and the confidential letters “Russia Intelligence” and “Ukraine Intelligence”. Arnaud Dubien has also been a consultant to the French Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, the European Parliament, GIFAS and major industrial groups. Since 2010, he is a member of the Valdaï Discussion Club. He is also an advisor to the President of the Choiseul Institute for Russia.

 

Arnaud Dubien’s main areas of expertise are Russian foreign policy, Russian circles of power, Franco-Russian relations, as well as Russia’s policy in Africa.

 

He has published numerous articles, notably in La revue internationale et stratégique, Politique internationale, Le Courrier des pays de l’Est, La revue d’études comparatives Est-Ouest and Diplomatie. Arnaud Dubien is a regular contributor to French-language media (Le Figaro, L’Opinion, RFI, RTS, Radio Méditerranée internationale, etc.) and Russian media (Kommersant, Vedomosti, Nezavissimaïa gazeta, etc.).

 

Arnaud Dubien has directed the Franco-Russian Observatory since its creation in 2012.
